![]() ![]() You can keep bb going every 2.5 second but we shouldn't as we can achieve higher dps without it. If our dots lasted longer for example, we'd be fine, but it's a weakness of necro and so it changes the way we play. We're either letting things drop, performing them inefficiently or not fitting in as many skills as we could. I main necro, there's nothing I haven't done in the game and I crunch numbers everyday, for hours, it's a lot of fun for me to work out statistical averages and it's limitations based on physically what can be performed: something that looks higher on paper does not yield better results. Theres a bunch of other reasons such as passives giving us pen and cheaper abilities but there's a lot to go into. If each blastbones is higher damage, on average our dps is higher because as its proc ing, not only does it do more damage but we re also fitting more into our rotation dealing more damage. Having a blastbones taking a longer time to come back on cool down gives us chance to proc everything else, for example master staff for extra 6oo spell power or skulls or poisons or whatever. ![]() That's even before we've used other moves like spammables from weapon trees or skulls, potions, dodge rolling, moving, heavy attacks etc. Add in blastbones every 2.5 second and now we can't cast anymore moves without letting dots and buffs and debuff drop off or missing blastbones. That between 4 and 6 seconds of casting, due to global cooldown, these moves every 12 seconds (our dots on average last a lot less than other classes making our rotation difficult). We also need at least 1 summon depending on circumstance, likely 2 on the majority of situations. Necro need minimum 3 dots, sometimes 5 is beneficial, because of all the passives, dot buff, extra utility each dot gives (boneyard etc). 5 seconds for bb to come back or not casting bb because you're casting another move between 2.5 and 3.5 secs because of global cool downs). It needs to be pilotable a d keeping bb going every 2.5 (baring in mind your waiting. It's like having high spell damage but no magicka to sustain, or an amazing build with technically high numbers but you can't get rotation so there's a dps drop. ![]() I can only tell ppl of my experiences but the longer distance absolutely makes up for casting less, it hits incredible numbers, more than most ults on a high crit build.
